Kia Ora !*FIRSTNAME*!,

As the long summer months creep behind us for another year, Rotorua has been engulfed by the beautiful autumn colors’ that signal the onset of winter. The temperature has begun to drop, snow dustings have appeared on the surrounding hills, the summer crowds dispersed and tourists head for the geothermal spa waters to warm their weary limbs and Rotorua’s clear crisp winter days provide the perfect backdrop for exploring our unique region.

TRENZ is fast approaching, this year in Auckland after a 2 year stint in Rotorua and I am sure we will touch base with many of you there next week. For those we won’t be seeing there are a number of exciting things happening on the Rotorua scene.

For your information

Following the recent RTO/IBO day, several operators asked whether Kay Clarke from Stay and Play was employed by Destination Rotorua Marketing so we thought it appropriate to clarify this.
Kay, through Stay and Play represents approximately 15 Rotorua operators, conducting sales and marketing activities on their behalf. Part of this activity includes organising famils to her member’s products.
Destination Rotorua Marketing is the Regional Tourism Organisation for Rotorua and as such is responsible for marketing Rotorua generically and keeping the travel industry updated on product developments and regional updates.

Rotorua airport runway

The airport runway extensions continue and are due for completion in the next 2 months. Although no airline has committed to a trans-Tasman route yet, with the runway completion nearing we will keep you up to date on significant developments regarding this.

Famils

And finally if you have famils coming through the region we are more than happy to discuss hosting a meal one evening or another similar arrangement – just send me an email.

Wishing you all the best for the rest of 2009,

Kind regards
