Lakes Open!
Finally the long awaited day has come that sees anglers getting back onto lakes, rivers and streams which have been closed to fishing (apart from some lakes winter shoreline angling) for 3 months. Here are some tips for being successful on the lakes in the new season:
- Be early. The ramps will be busy, expect delays and be courteous
- Troll shallow early, then move deeper later in the morning when things get busy
- Try jigging, and glow bugging at lunch and when at rest
- Keep changing lures, some colours will be catching better then others.
- Experiment with different depths throughout the day
- Mark successful locations as they will often produce fish repeatedly
- Check the weather and find a sheltered location if you intend to fish throughout the day
- Enjoy yourself, it suppose to be fun!
