Kia Ora,
Firstly double best wishes to you for the summer season and the impending arrival of Chinese/Korean New Year on 23rd January 2012 – welcoming the year of The Dragon.
To start the year off we look forward to hosting the first - of what will be a number of - Asian Market Development forums throughout the year. This initial forum is being held at the Holiday Inn and has a specific focus as an update on Asian market developments and is being held between 3pm to 5pm on January 31st, 2012.
In addition to myself as DRM's Business Development Manager Asia, we have confirmed Mr David Sakey - Insights Manager in Tourism New Zealand and Mr Malcolm Johns - Chief Executive Officer of InterCity Group to speak and be engaged at the forum as well.
If you are interested in attending this forum, please RSVP by 4.30pm on Jan 20th to Nadine on nadine@rotoruaNZ.com
We are also pleased to inform you that our 7-week Chinese VFR campaign in Auckland is scheduled to commence on February 14th with the dual goal of changing the perception of Rotorua in the minds of Chinese New Zealanders, as well as creating some inspiring itineraries that will form some great collateral and product for the Asian market. Specifically we are targeting the FIT and luxury market within the 200,000 Chinese resident communities living in New Zealand, as through them their relatives and friends in Asia.
We will do this through the use of key opinion leaders and large scale Chinese media networks which up till now we have not focussed on. The focus on these opinion leaders is designed to attract attention and consideration from the wider Asian community in New Zealand. In doing so, we expect this to result in positive PR for Rotorua and for you and your business directly from being partner in this campaign.
Which Asian media platforms are we using in this campaign?
The largest Chinese website in New Zealand www.skykiwi.com and www.istar.com (These websites attract over 50,000 Chinese-speaking visitors daily.)
The most popular Chinese Radio Station AM936 in New Zealand (Operates 24 hours throughout the greater Auckland region, capturing over 90% of the Chinese radio audience).
Two major Chinese newspaper in New Zealand 'Chinese Herald' and 'The United Chinese Press' (Both of the Chinese papers print 10,000 copies for each issue, with 4 issues per week. They are free to pick up all over Auckland city, New Zealand Chinese Herald is also on Chinese southern Airline).
The most established Asian TV networks World TV Limited in New Zealand (Channel 28 on Freeview HD plat-form covering 9 cities in New Zealand or 75% of the total population.)
How can your business become involved?
